Q:  How long does it take to make my jewelry?

A:  Some pieces take only a day to make and others can take up to three weeks. The time frame depends upon whether the beads, charms, chain, etc. are in stock or not and how heavy my workload is. If I need to order from Jewelry Supply, it will take me longer to make your jewelry, because shipping from the West Coast to the East Coast can take up to 10 days. This includes items from the Jewelry Gallery and unique custom-designed jewelry made from the individual elements you selected.

Q:  How do I clean my jewelry?

A:  Use a weak solution of mild soap and water and gently hand rub. Rinse with luke warm water and air dry.

PLEASE NOTE:  items made with wire may have rough or sharp edges. USE EXTREME CARE.

Q:  How strong are the materials used to string the beads?

A:  I prefer to use a product called WildFire. It is a thermally bonded thread with a break weight of 10-12 lbs.

Q:  What if I have trouble with lobster claw clasps?

A:  I prefer working with magnetic clasps. My fingers do not always work the way I would like them to, so I find that pushing two magnets together is much easier. The magnets I use are neodymium, rare Earth, magnets. They have a stronger pull than average magnets. BE CAREFUL not to place these magnets next to your computer, credit cards, or cell phone; it may damage your hard drive.

Q:  If I find a particular crystal on a website that I like the look of, can you make me a necklace, bracelet and/or earrings from them?

A:  In the vast majority of cases, yes. Some sizes are awkward for bracelets or earrings. If this is the case, then I will tell you right away. It may be possible to find the same stone in a smaller size.

Q:  I keep seeing the name Swarovski associated with crystals and pearls. What is this?

A:  Swarovski pearls are high quality imitation pearls with a crystal core. They are smooth and lustrous to the touch and when compared to other simulated pearls, it is quite easy to pick out the Swarovski pearls by their high quality.

A:  Swarovski crystals are made in a variety of cuts, sizes, colors, and are faceted polished cut glass. To see a large variety of these please visit the link to Jewelry Supply on my Links page. The Swarovski Company has been making pearls and crystals since 1892.

Note:  you can see Swarovski Crystals on the DVD of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera. The chandelier in the opera house is made of 20,000 Swarovski Crystal Pendants, and a shop front is shown; Swarovski, with jewelry behind the store’s front window.

Q:  What if I want to try making jewelry myself?

A:  I encourage anyone to try it for themselves. Tutorial how-to videos can be found at Ornamentea, Jewelry Supply, or on You Tube. You will find links to Ornamentea and Jewelry Supply on my Links page. At You Tube, simply run a search for beading.

Q:  What if I want to try making a bracelet for myself, and I have a video of how-to, but one or more instructions on the video are confusing me; can you help me?

A:  I will be happy to assist you in anyway I can. If I don’t know the answer to your question, I will tell you.

Q:  What is your return policy?

A:  1. Jewelry you find unsatisfactory must be returned within 3 days of receipt for a full refund (minus shipping cost). If it is returned between 4 days to 2 weeks, I will issue a credit that can be used toward a future purchase. No refund or credit will be issued for jewelry returned more than 2 weeks after receipt. The postmark on the package will serve as proof of date of return.

    2. I strongly urge you to return jewelry by a traceable method (i.e. a tracking number). I will not accept responsibility for “lost” jewelry.

    3. If the box is damaged, inspect the contents in front of your mail carrier. If the item(s) is/are damaged, refuse receipt and ask the carrier to send it back to the shipper. Upon arrival of the parcel, I will immediately make and send a replacement order.

    4. By placing an order, you are bound by these terms.

Please Note:  I carefully check each piece of jewelry for quality before I ship it. If it is not perfect, I will make it so before I package it for shipping.

Q:  Can you repair the jewelry you made for me if it becomes damaged.

A:  Yes, in most cases. Repairs are half (1/2) the original purchase price. The repair price does not include shipping of your repaired item (either direction). PLEASE NOTE: the repair price is for items returned for repair with all beads in the package. If I need to replace more expensive beads, the repair price will be higher.

Q:  Will you tell me how much the repair will cost before I ship my jewelry to you for repair?

A:  Yes I will. I will always let you know how much the repair will cost. If all of the materials (minus the stringing material) are returned together for repair, the cost is as stated above.

Q:  What is the cost of shipping for my order?

A:  A flat rate charge of $6.00 is charged for all orders.

Q:  Can you create a loom work or other bracelet made of gold, palladium, or sterling silver?

A:  Absolutely. The price will dramatically increase because of the cost of the beads and clasp, but several styles of clasps and beads are available. The cost of shipping will also increase because I will have to add extra insurance. Please e-mail me for pricing of the jewelry and shipping.

NOTE:  You may want to consider a piece that is accented with precious metals or stones rather than an entire piece made of the same. This will greatly lower the price.

Q:  Can you create a bracelet, necklace, and/or earrings using my birthstone and/or my child(ren)’s birthstones?

A:  Absolutely. While the piece(s) may not be the exact stone (I.e. Diamond), I can use the correct color to simulate the birthstone(s).

Q:  I want to buy my wife (etc.) something, but I do not know where to start. Can you help?

A:  Yes. Look through her jewelry and clothing. What colors does she favor? We (women) like to match our clothing with our jewelry. Also pay attention to what style of jewelry she likes, such as light and delicate or more ornate. E-mail me if you have further questions. I will do my best to assist you in purchasing the right piece(s) for birthday, anniversary, or gift in general.

Q:  Do you make jewelry for children?

A:  Yes. In most cases, I will alter the length of a piece to a child’s size. If the piece is significantly shorter and I use significantly less materials, the price will be reduced. This may not be the case with all pieces.

NOTE:  I use small beads in the making of all the jewelry contained in this website. KEEP THE JEWELRY AWAY FROM BABIES AND TODDLERS. A CHOKING HAZARD EXISTS WITH ALL THE PIECES I MAKE.

NOTE:  any colors, shapes, textures, stones, pearls, metals, and look you can imagine, I should be able to create unique jewelry for you. Tell me what you want, and I will make every effort to create special jewelry handmade just for you.
